Return Policy

Hata & Co., Limited (Y. Hata) must approve all returned goods. All returned goods must be accompanied with an invoice copy.

  1. Picking up of goods by Y. Hata personnel does not constitute an acceptance of the goods for purposes of issuing a credit memo/refund.
    • All returned goods will be inspected by Y. Hata personnel to ensure they are in their original packaging, in the same delivery condition, and in resaleable condition. Any products not meeting these standards will be rejected and customers will be notified of such rejections.
  2. The U.S. Government now requires Y. Hata and all food suppliers to conform to its new regulations. All rejection of fresh (chill) or frozen beef, pork, lamb, veal, seafood and poultry must be made at time of delivery. It is, therefore, of utmost importance that the product mentioned above is inspected upon receipt.
    • Hata personnel will not be allowed to pick up these products after they have been received, as Y. Hata cannot attest to where and how the products were stored and handled by the customer.
  3. All Claims for shortages must be made upon receipt of goods. Y. Hata will not be responsible for any shortages claimed after delivery of goods. Customer is to annotate any shortages directly onto the invoice(s).
  4. Y. Hata will deny all damage claims after 24 hours from the time of delivery.
  5. Claims for spoiled goods other than those covered by paragraph II must be made within 48 hours from the time of delivery. Credit memo will be issued only upon inspection and approval by Y. Hata.
  6. Claims and returned goods not covered under paragraph II (U.S. Government), III (shortage), IV (damage) AND V (spoilage) must be requested for pickup within 14 days of the delivery date and approved by Y. Hata. Return request will be subject to a restocking charge of 25% of invoice price.
  7. All return requests that are over 14 days from the date of delivery will be denied.
  8. We will provide equal employment opportunity in all areas of our employment practices, and follow all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and or executive orders.
